A $12 million mansion in Brisbane is so special, it compelled buyers to jet in from around the world to stake their claim.
The home named Larc, in Hamilton, has sold for $12.3 million but agents were confronted with an offer before it officially hit the market. However, it was not secure to win the keys and the home was soon open to all buyers to battle for it.
Of the six prospective buyers who wanted the keys, some were from Sydney and Brisbane, and others were from Britain and Dubai.
The luxury address was built by Graya, a Gold Coast-based developer and design company which made headlines this year when Grand Slam champion Ash Barty bought one of their Queensland apartments.
Heath Williams, from Place New Farm, did the deal for Larc, which was designed by architect Joe Adsett, with Graya.
“What sets Larc apart is the scarcity of such exquisitely designed and exceptionally built homes on the market,” he said in a statement.
“And with those breathtaking views, it was an irresistible combination.
“Before we even officially listed the property, we received a pre-market offer, although it was shy of our expectations.
“We believed we could achieve more on market. The amount of interest was overwhelming. Ultimately, six highly motivated buyers were given the rare opportunity for a private inspection.”
Hamilton’s median house price is $1.83 million, according to Domain data, but it has a deepening prestige market.
The suburb is home to one of the best properties in Australia – which is also for sale, seeking offers more than $7 million.
The five-bedroom house, Torre, won Best Development Residential Property Australia at the International Property Awards in London this year.
The crowning of the Spanish-inspired estate in Hamilton is a major achievement for the Australian collaborators. The name, in Spanish, means “tower” and its lofty position and awe-inspiring configuration captures vistas of the Brisbane CBD and Brisbane River.
The property is the work of southeast Queensland prestige developer Capital Luxury Residences’ design director Alissa Birch and Melbourne-based design studio Mason Bright Architects.
On the books of Place Estate Agents New Farm, the home marries marble, travertine and engineered oak. From the bespoke joinery, to the statement pendant lights and banks of shimmering glass, the design invites sunlight and plays with the concept of Zen, but in a luxury manner.
It is the second gong for the home. It also won Best Residential Property in the Asia Pacific region at the International Property Awards in Thailand in April.
