A picturesque Italian villa nestled among the rolling hills of Tuscany could be yours for less than $50.
The villa in Garfagnana, in northern Tuscany, is being raffled for £25 ($47) per ticket by British couple Jon and Annmarie Nurse, who have already raffled off two other Italian properties.
If you’re dreaming of running for the hills – or specifically the Tuscan hills – when Australia’s border finally reopens, then this could be the home for you.
The four-bedroom, four-bathroom house, about a two-hour drive from Florence, offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and overlooks the nearby village.
The views can be enjoyed from most of the bedrooms, not to mention the large outdoor pool and terrace – which would be the perfect place to unwind on a warm summer’s day.
While a $47 ticket may seem steep compared to the $1.50 that other properties in Italy are on the market for, this Tuscan terrace is actually move-in ready.
The kitchen has been recently refurbished and is fitted with new appliances, the home has been fully rewired and has new gas heating with radiators throughout for those colder nights. There’s also an open fireplace to curl up by in the living room.
The property is reportedly worth about $650,000, according to the New York Post, and is the third the couple have raffled off. They have already parted with a holiday house in Tuscany and a fully furnished townhouse in Piazza Calabro, with part of the proceeds going to children’s charities.
The previous raffles have raised more than £75,000 for The Children’s Society and Braccio di Ferro, according to the competition website, with the couple now hoping to raise more funds. The raffle of the villa requires a minimum of 20,000 entries to proceed, with a cash prize given if the benchmark isn’t reached.
The prize will cover transfer and legal fees for the property, plus flights to Italy, car hire and accommodation so you can sign for the transfer of ownership. It’s then up to you whether you’d like to keep it as a holiday home, rent it out or sell it on.
The draw will close on January 22, 2022.
