A little slice of Italy has hit the market in the burgeoning Campbell 5 precinct.

The launch of “Siena”, the precinct’s homage to the Tuscan city of the same name, follows its tributes to New York, Paris and Copenhagen, and brings the five-development precinct a step closer to fruition.

Siena’s 53 units are being marketed as a “contemporary take on a traditional Tuscan villa”.

The development will comprise 12 one-bedroom, 21 two-bedroom and 18-three bedroom apartments, as well as two four-bedroom penthouses.

Prices start from $399,000 for a one-bedroom apartment.

JWLand head of marketing, public relations and research Kate Hulm said the apartments feature flexible floorplans, designed to accommodate residents’ changing lifestyle needs.

“Similar to our first release, Saint-Germain, Siena has been designed with owner-occupiers and downsizers in mind,” Ms Hulm said.

“This is reflected in the timeless, elegant interior design style. Carrara marble, natural stone and European fine oak feature strongly in the interiors.”

Previous Campbell 5 releases include the Danish-inspired Koben, Manhattan-style Greenwich Park and Parisian Saint-Germain.

Ms Hulm said the precinct’s global theme has attracted a lot of interest.

“Ahead of a new release there is always a great deal of anticipation from current buyers, Campbell residents and members of the broader Canberra community,” Ms Hulm said.

“People often try to guess what the next theme will be and offer their own ideas and suggestions.”

Ms Hulm said Siena was an obvious choice as it’s renowned for its architecture.

“The city of Siena is also surrounded by beautiful landscapes and mountain ranges much like the development site at Campbell 5,” Ms Hulm said.

The 6.4-hectare Campbell 5 precinct comprises five blocks totalling 21,473 square metres, alongside open green spaces.

SHL Development, part of JWLand, purchased the five blocks for $63.75 million in 2014.

Upon completion, the infill site on the corner of Constitution Avenue and Anzac Avenue could house more than 500 units.

The theme for the final release has not yet been revealed but the developers recently took to social media for suggestions.

“We were really impressed with the mix and quality of responses we received and the project team has taken those suggestions into consideration in developing the initial concept for the design,” Ms Hulm said.
