Hollywood superstar Pierce Brosnan and his filmmaker wife Keely Shaye Brosnan have listed their stunning Malibu house for sale for the eye-watering price of $US100 million ($141.2 million), according to media reports.
The Thai-inspired beachfront estate includes a main home and guest/pool house, set on a massive block of nearly 4800 square metres.
After raising their two sons at the home outside Los Angeles, the star couple have since relocated from California to Hawaii.
“I love Malibu,” Brosnan told The Wall Street Journal. “It has my heart.”
But now, “home is very much here in the islands,” he said.
Brosnan’s time shooting the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies in Thailand inspired the design of the home, according to the WSJ. Named Orchid House, it took a decade to build and the green roof references both Thai temples and the green mountains behind the house.
A bonus from his role in the hit Die Another Day had allowed the couple to build their “dream house”, he told the publication.
It features five bedrooms across the compound, open-plan living with ocean views and outdoor terraces perfect for entertaining.
The home theatre, of course, is fit for a movie star, while the home also boasts a wine cellar/bar, gym, music room, pool, spa and two-car garage.
It’s a star-studded neighbourhood, with Danny DeVito and Dustin Hoffman living nearby.
Chris Cortazzo of Compass has the listing, and told the WSJ the area is attracting buyers who are now working from home.
