The Big Bang Theory’s Johnny Galecki is offloading a handsome Los Angeles house that has had a string of famous Tinseltown owners.

The sitcom star has put his Spanish-style residence on the market for $US11.9 million ($17.03 million), according to Dirt. He bought it off action movie hero Jason Statham, who in turn had purchased it from comedian Ben Stiller.

Stiller was the one who restored and expanded the 1929 property, hiring design firm Roman and Williams for the job, before handing it to Statham, whose long-time partner is supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Galecki offered it for rent 12 months ago but has called time on the property, which he paid Statham $US9.2 million ($16.02 million) for in 2015.

Galecki was one of the highest-paid TV actors on the world, making around $US900,000 ($1.2 million) per episode as physicist Leonard Hofstadter on The Big Bang Theory, which finished its long-time run in 2017.

His home has kept a traditional Spanish aesthetic with tiled floors, terracotta roofing, handsome wooden doors and exposed beams, slim balconies overlooking the pool and gardens, antique light fittings and elegant arches.

The bottom level of the property has a speakeasy bar with intricate penny-tile flooring and a decorative pressed tin ceiling.

A wood-panelled screening room, for watching movies, carries on the old Hollywood vibe.

The main bedroom has a broad leather-lined feature wall and French doors to a private, poolside balcony, up in the trees.

Multiple patios with water features and outdoor dining areas punctuate the lush grounds.
