Kim Kardashian is selling the renovation-ready property she purchased only six months ago, without a tool lifted on the project.
The ramshackle California home cost the reality TV star and businesswoman $US6.3 million ($10.05 million) and she is hoping to offload it for just under $US7 million ($11.8 million), according to Dirt.
The aged, cream-coloured property in the Los Angeles suburb of Hidden Hills has a gabled façade, leadlight windows and a barren garden. It is a shock contrast to the digs Kim occupies – she recently splashed $101 million purchasing an oceanfront, clifftop mansion that previously belonged to supermodel Cindy Crawford – so neighbours would have expected the bulldozers to be called in.
The 41-year-old décor and shapewear entrepreneur is instead hoping to pocket more than $1 million in what is effectively a land-baking flip.
The property was built in the 1970s and is next door to the compound she lived in with ex-husband Kanye West and their children during their marriage and has retained since their split.
The listing on Compass doesn’t include interior shots.
Kim recently offered up a downtown Calabasas condo and ranch-style house as she shakes up her significant real estate portfolio.
At $US70 million ($101 million), her September purchase of Crawford’s former estate is the priciest property transaction of the year in Malibu.
The sum is all the more extraordinary when the history of the property unfolds – the land was split in two by Crawford and her husband, tequila brand founder and hospitality entrepreneur Rande Gerber, shortly after their acquisition in 2015.
Crawford and Gerber paid $50 million for the address and sub-divided the land, which then rocketed in price. They kept the smaller piece and sold off the larger block – with a 1940’s Mediterranean-style house – to local hedge fund manager Adam Weiss.
The mansion was built in 1944, had makeover in the 1990s and was refreshed again in 2016. Weiss sold the property to Kardashian.
The lavish pad has deep, waterfront patio that sweeps off the dining room, with space for lounge chairs and a fire pit, plus a gym with blonde-wood flooring, looking out to greenery.
Multiple outdoor zones are spread across different levels of land. Outdoor stairs lead to swimming pool and cabana, and a spa and its own terrace is positioned to look out to the waves while soaking.
Included is a tennis court and for beach walks, the home has private steps down to the sand.
