New York City’s elite might be calling King Charles their neighbour.
Reports by The Real Deal, Crain’s and the New York Post, claim the King has purchased an apartment in Manhattan’s Billionaires’ Row for $US6.63 million ($AU9.8 million).
It’s understood the three-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom condo is on the 11th floor of the development’s Steinway Hall portion, on 57th Street.
The New York Post reports that Robert McCubbing, Senior Trade Commissioner and Director of Trade and Investment at the Canadian Consulate in New York, signed the deed on behalf of King Charles.
Developers Kevin Maloney and Michael Stern are understood to have closed the deal.
Billionaires’ Row is an enclave of super tall and super pricey towers on 57th Street and its surrounding streets. It’s considered to be the most desirable location in Manhattan, due to its proximity to Central Park’s southern edge.
King Charles will be surrounded by luxury, should he choose to make the apartment his home in the States. The foyer features white Macaubas stone floors, while the kitchens in the complex are styled with Cristallo gold quartzite countertops and splashbacks, as well as top-notch Gaggenau appliances.
Powder rooms are finished in jewel onyx and the bathrooms feature copper soaking tubs and bronze fixtures.
Residents can make use of the paddle court, two-lane lap pool with private cabanas, sauna rooms, a fitness centre and private dining room.
The property offers views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
The complex contains resort-style facilities for residents.
There is a rooftop pool for residents to enjoy.
