Leading landscape designer Peter Fudge is credited as the creative mind behind many of Sydney’s best gardens, so it was with some excitement to see his own backyard production when he and his wife Brigitte listed their Coogee home this week.

Set above street level behind a lock-up garage, with tell-tale creepers spilling from the elevated garden, it features his oft-used organic-shaped pavers and plenty of low succulents and creepers throughout the low-maintenance, pebbled front garden.

The charming Californian bungalow, still with ornate tiles on the stoop that matches much of the greenery, was bought by the couple in 2010 for $1.85 million from former Rabbitoh Greg Keenan, who founded Aspire sports management company.

At the time the couple were up-grading from their Clovelly semi which they had bought in 2007 for $1.3 million and sold three years later for $1.81 million.

Unsurprisingly the couple have once again undertaken a redesign of their Mount Street property, adding a swimming pool and DA-approval for another level.

Expect to pay $3 million at the March 29 auction through James Keenan, of Ray White Double Bay.
