These sellers will be hoping to toast not just Christmas in 48 hours time from the fall of the hammer, but hopefully a significant windfall and a signature of a contract.

Such is the enduring and demand and passion for property in Australia, not even Christmas can cause an absolute halt.

The final weekend for auction data was December 14. On that Saturday, Domain’s national clearance rate clocked in at 53.8 per cent. At the same time last year, it was 53.1 per cent.

These homes will be the last to be auctioned in 2024.
