In the US state of Arizona, a fully-furnished house with its own basketball gym and running track is on the market for $US23.5 million ($AU37 million).
At the heart of the home is ‘The Jordan Room’, a museum-quality display space that currently holds 290 pairs of Michael Jordan sneakers – with the capacity to hold up to 325 pairs.
Owner Brett Hardt, a diehard basketball fan, spent $US300,000 building The Jordan Room. He has worn every single pair of shoes in the collection.
Hardt and his wife Suzie built the seven-bedroom, 18-bathroom megamansion seven years ago. At the time, Hardt was sponsoring a local youth basketball team.
“If you are involved in basketball in the [Salt River] Valley, it’s impossible to get gym time. I’m like, ok, I’ll build my own gym,” Hardt told local news station Arizona’s Family.
“When I started designing the house, I was like, we are going to build the gym first and build the house around it,” he said.
According to the Zillow listing, over 60 NBA players have visited the property over the years, including Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, Damian Lillard, Torrey Craig, and Mikal Bridges.
Today, the house is a sports-lover’s paradise. There is a regulation-sized basketball gym with a professional scoreboard and locker room buried underground.
The property also offers a golf practice area with a nine-hole putting green, and a cutting-edge golf simulator, according to the listing.
In the grounds is not one, but two resort-style swimming pools with water features and a poolside bar.
There is also an ice bath, a spa, and a 480-metre jogging track that circles the perimeter of the property.
Inside, the property takes inspiration from Hardt’s Chicago roots with exposed brick accent walls.
The open-plan kitchen and living room has Costa Rican-inspired timber ceilings, while marble-encased bathrooms add a touch of opulence.
The massive 1989-square-metre house is being sold fully furnished – although the listing does not specify whether Hardt’s beloved sneaker collection is included.
