A real estate agent’s surreal selling strategy has been capturing the attention of buyers.
The agent, Jonathan Benton, is selling a New Hampshire house with the help of inflatable dinosaurs.
The three-bedroom, three-bedroom timber house is on the market for $US590,000 ($AU881,000). Benton hoped that staging the property with playful dinosaurs would help it stand out from the crowd.
A trio of orange dinosaurs are pictured indulging in a variety of antics around the house: playing backyard cricket, swinging on a tyre, baking cookies, and napping on the couch.
“The kitchen is a T-Rexcellent space for any chef, with granite countertops, a central island, stainless steel appliances, and a bright dining area,” the listing says.
“With beautiful natural surroundings and ample closet space, this home is a rare find that won’t go extinct.”
Benton’s longtime friend, Alex Newell, is the man in the dinosaur suit, the Boston Globe reports.
This isn’t the first time the agent has got the dinosaur costumes out to help sell a property.
Last month, he successfully sold another New Hampshire house within a week of the listing going live thanks to his creative staging concept.
Benton, who enjoys taking part in comedy clubs, says the real estate industry needs an injection of humour to prevent listings from becoming repetitive.
The homeowner, Sarah Rocca, is completely on board with the initiative.
“I’m a very motivated seller, so when I said ‘hey is there anything we can do to speed this up?’, we came up with a fun, creative idea,” she told WHDH.
The property last sold for $US376,000 ($AU562,000) in 2018.
