Mark Wahlberg is temporarily calling one of Australia’s richest suburbs home.
The Hollywood actor – who is Down Under filming Amazon crime thriller Play Dirty – has taken up residence at an exclusive Point Piper address in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
Containing five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, the trophy home offers a resort-like feel with its top-notch amenities and uninterrupted views across Shark Island to Manly.
Point Piper is 6km east of Sydney’s CBD and has long been considered one of Australia’s most elite suburbs. Domain records show the property last sold for $51 million in April 2020.
Despite its long-held status as one of Australia’s richest postcodes, the suburb did not officially register a median house price based on Domain data last year. Records show only five houses sold in 2023 – one for $68 million and the other for $60 million.
Designed by architect Michael Dysart in the early 2000s and undergoing a transformation in 2016, the Point Piper address well and truly has entertainment at the forefront.
A rooftop terrace is complete with a barbecue and wet bar, and there’s also a pool, an additional covered alfresco area, home cinema and 5000-bottle wine cellar.
Wahlberg can also maintain his buff physique with the home boasting its own state-of-the-art gym.
Interiors are modern and luxurious with an expansive use of glass, hardwood floors and a neutral palette. A standout design element is the master bathtub with a Sydney Harbour backdrop.
Walhberg plays a thief called Parker in the Amazon film that also stars Dermot Mulroney, Tony Shalhoub and Rosa Salazar.
