The late Matthew Perry’s property has been deeply discounted as estate’s executors scramble to tie up the tragic star’s affairs.
The price cut of $US500,000, to land at $US4.7 million ($AU6.96 million) follows three months of unsuccessful campaigning to sell the property, which the Friends actor never got the chance to live in.
The sleek Hollywood Hills address, which Perry purchased just months before he died, was originally listed for $US5,195,000 ($AU7,897,000).
Perry’s personal assistant, two doctors and a woman dubbed the “Ketamine Queen” by US authorities have been arrested and charged nearly ten months after the 54-year-old was found unresponsive in a hot tub at his other LA home, in the Pacific Palisades neighbourhood.
Autopsy results reveal he died from the effects of anesthetic ketamine, with drowning as a second factor.
There have been no takers for the Hollywood Hills house and this is the first discount that has been applied.
The campaign is on the books of Douglas Elliman agents.
The three-bedroom, four-bathroom home at 1479 Rising Glen Road was purchased by the actor in May last year in an off-market deal for $US4.9 million ($AU7.4 million), multiple outlets reported at the time.
The property was built in 1957 and has undergone a contemporary but sensitive renovation.
The all-white home has a mid-century modern aesthetic with a flat roof and angular details. There is a focus on functionality, clean lines and integration of the indoors and outdoors, which is typical of that era’s architecture.
A sun-filled central patio is a property standout, and the main bedroom opens directly to the pool area.
Agents describe the home on the listing as “boasting sex appeal” and offering sophistication, from walls of glass to stone details and hardwood floors.
The property would suit buyers who want to be not far from the action, in an area just above the famous Sunset Strip.
