Actor and playwright Matthew Perry — best known for playing the neurotic, wise-cracking character Chandler Bing in the popular sitcom Friends — has reportedly listed his expansive Century City, Los Angeles penthouse.

The $US35 million ($51.5 million) price tag is said to have made it the most expensive condominium for sale in the city at present.

The actor bought the 863-square-metre, whole-floor, four-bedroom apartment on top of the 42-storey Century Tower a little over two years ago, paying $US20 million at the time.

It has since undergone a renovation with architect Scott Joyce and interior designer LM Pagano at the helm.

Offering huge views of the city, mountains and sea from three separate balconies,  the home has floor-to-ceiling windows as well as four car spaces and a home theatre.

The listing photos also reveal a sleek, modern kitchen and a hallway decorated with Batman collectibles.

And — if that is not enough — the  Robert A. M. Stern-designed building itself is kitted out with, amongst other features, a full restaurant, library, fitness centre and 22-metre pool.

Famous neighbours reportedly included singer Rihanna and Candy Spelling, author and  wife of the late film and television producer Aaron Spelling.

Aside from his Friends’ role, running from 1994 to 2004, Perry has also had film appearances in Three to Tango and the Whole Nine Yards, as well as recent television roles in Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, The Good Wife, Go On and The Odd Couple series remake. He has also written and starred in a 2016 play on the West End, titled The End of Longing.

The 49-year-old actor has been open about his struggles with substance addiction over recent years, and had a health scare in 2018 with a three month hospital stay following a  gastrointestinal perforation.
