With a sunny northerly aspect and a swimming pool in the backyard, Alan Sinclair and Gerd Leinberger’s three-bedroom property in Waramanga is a home for all seasons.
However, their decision to sell in August is purely a matter of timing.
Alan and Gerd have purchased an apartment in the city which is nearing completion.
“We are in the process of packing up the small bits and pieces in readiness to move and prepare for open inspections and the auction,” Alan says.
The couple has watched Waramanga evolve during their 36 years in the home and say it’s been a convenient place to live.
“What we love about the house is the location,” Alan says. “It’s very central to the whole of Canberra.”
The property features an open-plan design, three spacious bedrooms and ample storage throughout. It enjoys plenty of space for outdoor entertaining and captures picturesque views of the Brindabellas.
Alan says Waramanga is in a renaissance, with original residents downsizing and young families settling in the peaceful suburb.
Alan and Gerd will be moving to the new Mayfair development on West Row.
“We’re looking forward to being in the centre of the city and not needing to use the car as much,” Alan says.
“It’s convenient to the hobbies we enjoy, which are music, theatre and dining.”
The property, 17 Gamor Street, Waramanga, will be sold at auction in August. The marketing campaign is set to begin on July 23. Phone Luton Properties Weston Creek agent Sean Rogers on 0414 538 348.
