Two years before the scheduled opening of the Sydney Metro Northwest, new townhouses near one of the future train stations have hit the market.

Altrove is a 50-hectare masterplanned community from developer Stockland opposite Schofields train station, which is on the Richmond line between Blacktown and Windsor.

The site is about three kilometres west of the future Cudgegong Road station, one of eight new stations due to open in early 2019 as part of the first stage of the Sydney Metro.

Trains are scheduled to run every four minutes during peak hour, delivering commuters to Martin Place in less than 50 minutes.

By the time it’s finished, Altrove will have more than 1200 homes, including apartments, townhouses, freestanding houses and retirement residences. There are also shops, cafes, a medical centre, parks, playgrounds, bike and walking paths planned for the new community.

Stockland general manager of medium density, Ben Cantwell, says the first release of townhouses at Altrove received a strong response from buyers seeking a low-maintenance, high-quality lifestyle in a prime location.

The second collection of townhouses launched last month.

“Townhomes in the Sana release are the last available homes opposite our future 1.6-hectare Hilltop Park and each will have outstanding views of the Blue Mountains,” Cantwell says.

All Sana three-bedroom townhouses are designed across two levels, with open-plan living areas, stone benchtops, pendant lighting, double garages and front and rear landscaping.

The townhouses are arranged in a crescent shape on top of a hill, maximising views of the mountains, with timber-look detailing on the facades and brick highlights. Wide living room windows are designed to provide generous views of the park.

“Sana features stunning functional design with the attention to detail that makes this a stand-out project for customers seeking their dream home,” Cantwell says. “Townhouses are grouped in threes with many sharing only one wall, to give homeowners added privacy and outdoor space.”

There’s already a small cluster of shops at Schofields, including a Woolworths. The larger Rouse Hill Town Centre is about five kilometres away. There are plans for a new primary school and further road upgrades and pedestrian links.

Altrove is about 23 kilometres from Parramatta and 45 kilometres from the Sydney CBD. It falls within the North West Growth Centre, one of the state government’s priority growth areas. More than 200,000 new residents are expected to call Sydney’s north-west home in the next 25 to 30 years.

The third release of townhouses at Altrove is expected mid-year.
