Ending 12 years of searching, the basketball star has finally found a buyer for his Chicago home.
The sale is currently listed as ‘contingent,’ meaning some conditions still need to be sorted out before the deal can finally close.
Jordan first listed his nine-bedroom, 19-bathroom mansion in Highland Park, Illinois in 2012 for US$29 million, according to TMZ Sports.
Now, 12 years later, the listed price has gone down to just US$14,855,000.
Spanning seven acres, the estate is a sport-lover’s dream with a basketball court, gym, tennis court, circular infinity pool and putting green – although the dedicated cigar room may not be received quite as well by health enthusiasts.
In total, the property has over 5,200 square metres of floor space. It also comes with Jordan’s iconic ‘No. 23’ security gate.
Rumours have surrounded the sale process, with the Wall Street Journal reporting that prospective buyers who viewed the property were required to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
Earlier this year, the property was yet again the site of controversy when a TikTok user took a viral video claiming to be inside the ‘abandoned’ mansion.
