Movie buffs can buy their very own Californian ranch featured in numerous film and TV productions, which has played host to stars such as Harrison Ford and Billie Eilish.
Sable Ranch is located on 19 hectares of land in the picturesque Santa Clarita Valley, about an hour from Los Angeles.
The property, 25933 Sand Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita, is now for sale through Christie’s International Real Estate with an asking price of US$35 million (AU$55.5 million).
A former rural homestead that was integral to California’s agricultural and ranching history, the property became a distinguished movie studio location as far back as the 1940s.
According to its website, it was the location for the 1942 film, Ride ‘Em Cowboy, starring Lou Costello and Bud Abbott.
Elizabeth Taylor, Charlton Heston, Chevy Chase, Eddie Murphy, Daniel Radcliffe and Dax Shepard have all reportedly filmed at the ranch.
More recently, the 2020 Harrison Ford film The Call of the Wild was filmed there, as was the music video for the Billie Eilish hit, Happier Than Ever.
The ranch has been used for location shoots for TV shows Criminal Minds, 24 and Firefly, and films such as Robin Hood: Men in Tights, according to the listing.
Scenes for the upcoming Ben Affleck film The Accountant 2 were also reportedly filmed there.
Sable Ranch has captivated filmmakers thanks to its versatile landscapes, which can be easily transformed into Old West towns, farmlands, or rugged wilderness thanks to the diverse terrain, which includes rolling meadows, oak-studded hills and rugged mountains.
“With modern utilities, including underground electricity, natural gas, [the ranch] is well-equipped for large-scale projects,” the listing says.
“There are multiple parking facilities with capacity for hundreds of vehicles, accommodating projects of any scale, as well as two on-site helicopter pads.
“In addition to its current use as a film hub, Sable Ranch presents opportunities for future development.”
According to the listing, the site is zoned for agriculture, filming, recreation and potential residential or commercial subdivision and offers a unique blend of natural beauty, entertainment history and growth potential.
