The first development in Art Group’s Soho estate has been unveiled, with detailed plans for the 409-apartment Mulberry complex released on Thursday.
Mulberry is the first of five developments in the Soho estate to be released to market.
Soho, located in Dickson, will cover a 2.9-hectare site with a 500-metre frontage to Northbourne Avenue. Developer Art Group purchased the site in August 2016 for $37 million.
The mega development is set to feature both commercial and residential, and seeks to create a village atmosphere.
Located at the southernmost site of the block, Mulberry will form part of the residential wing of Soho.
“The vast majority of the properties at Mulberry are two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments; but there is also a range of one-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments,” said Art Group project director Brett Smith.
There will be five separate buildings at Mulberry and a conjoined basement. According to a development application for the site, three of the buildings are nine storeys and the others are seven and eight storeys.
Private residence amenities will feature on three of the rooftops, and include a resort-style swimming pool, communal vegetable garden and private ”zen” garden.
Mulberry residents will also be able to take advantage of both a bike and car sharing system delivered by BYKKO and Popcar.
Interior designer Darren Palmer, best known for being a judge on Channel 9 series The Block, is the mastermind behind the development’s interiors.
“I wanted to create homes that felt fresh, contemporary, comfortable, inviting and provided every owner with the best experience for their new home or investment,” he said.
“Each scheme features a very natural feeling while also focusing on usability, functionality and livability.”
Buyers will have a choice of three colour palettes – muted light neutral, mid-to-dark grey and walnut and warm white.
Alongside the quality interior design, Palmer has also designed furniture packages to complement the three colour schemes – which are included with the development.
“It gives a consistent look and feel for anyone wanting to move in without those initial upfront costs that many first home buyers aren’t necessarily aware of,” added Smith.
“It’s designed in such a way to enhance the liveability and quality of anyone’s home.”
Mulberry has been designed by Cox Architecture, in conjunction with landscape architects Redbox Design Group. The project engineers are Indesco.
