An urban explorer has ventured deep into an eerie home where it looks like the people who lived there simply got up one day and walked away.
The house has been ransacked in the period since it was abandoned, posing a major mystery around what happened to occupants.
Shoes, a bottle of wine, books and personal belongings sit idle, hauntingly as they were left, as the camera silently pans.
Vandals have clearly gotten into the draws and cupboards. All of the evidence points to an abrupt departure by the owner.
Urban explorer and photographer Dave sought out to discover the when and why.
Dave, who films his adventures in creepy, abandoned buildings for his Freaktography social media platforms, took his followers through the “time capsule” house in Canada in a YouTube video.
“I have no idea what we are in for,” Dave says at the start of the tour, standing in the middle of a darkened living room.
He explains a friend sent him photos and a video of the property, enticing him to explore it.
“All I know is are the pictures that he sent me, and the video footage, there is so much stuff left behind.”
In the comments, followers beg him to locate a calendar or a newspaper to place a timeline on what occurred there.
“Seeing a calendar frozen on the last month a house was occupied is haunting and informative,” a comment said.
Another person remarked: “The stuff isn’t important, but it does represent a person’s life, if you know how to read the clues”.
Others commented on the “cool” vintage items that were left behind, including board games, toys, computers, furniture and magazines.
The property has district views and oodles of graffiti, for an asking price under $1 million.
The mansion is a suburb landmark and ready for a new owner to show it respect it deserves.
The house had been empty for three years when it transacted “as is”, after a strong campaign.
