New development in Coombs designed to maximise open space and the outdoors

The expected completion date for Hadlow in Coombs is late 2020.

The real Hadlow is a small village in Kent, England, with a river running through middle and surrounded by green open spaces.

Much like the quaint English village, North Coombs has the Molonglo River running through its core and, given it doesn’t join up with Coombs itself, is surrounded by parkland and bordered by a nature reserve.

Located in North Coombs is another Hadlow – a boutique development of 10 three-bedroom townhouses and 27 one, two and three-bedroom apartments, designed by Kasparek Architects and built by Di Iulio Constructions.

There are six different designs available at Hadlow, each of which has been carefully considered to maximise the functionality of the kitchens, storage space and views.

“Every apartment has lift access and secured basement parking, and each floor will be light-filled through a full-building-height glass lobby area,” says agent Andrew Ligdopoulos of LJ Hooker Project Marketing.

“We’ve also included double glazing, ducted rangehoods, Bosch appliances, ducted heating and cooling and double garages with internal access to our townhouses, as well as a gas cooking option, to name a few of the features.”

The views from each of the homes sweep across the Molonglo Valley towards Black Mountain, and due to the clever use of design most will remain uninterrupted as the years go by.

At Hadlow, you’re enveloped by nature and the outdoors. The Molonglo River and Stromlo Forrest are right at your doorstep, not to mention the development itself is filled with spaces to draw you outside.

“The designers decided to create fewer than the permissible properties on the site and instead maximise the amount of open space,” says Ligdopoulos.

“In the end, this will ultimately make for a better environment within Hadlow and will also help in the resale of the property in the future.

“In an era where developers are pushing to maximise each site to the maximum, it’s good to have the option of a site with less density and in keeping with the surrounds.”

Located just across from Denman Prospect, Haldow is just a five-minute drive from the now operational Denman Village Shops. Groceries can be easily taken care of at The Farm IGA, as can a workout at Club Lime gym and a quick coffee hit at Morning Dew (which serves locally roasted, world-class ONA Coffee).

With easy access out of Molonglo and onto main roads like the Tuggeranong Parkway, getting from home to work and back again is a breeze.

“We expect Hadlow will appeal predominately to a mix of owner-occupiers from professionals to downsizers who are looking to for easy-care living,” says Ligdopoulos.

“We also expect some investors to take advantage of the potential great returns.”

Expected completion is late 2020.
