Soaring 23 storeys over Australia’s answer to Silicon Valley is developer TOGA Group’s latest offering at Macquarie Park in Sydney’s northwest, One Twenty Macquarie.

TOGA has already enjoyed sales success with two developments in the same area, the 618-apartment sold-out development Macquarie Central, and the 164-apartment Macquarie Green, the bulk of which has also been snapped up.

Respected architects Turner are the designers of the $160 million One Twenty Macquarie, and are finishing the building’s exterior with what the developer is calling “architectural white ribbons” to craft a unique identity.

The angled roof will have a twist, too, appearing to gently float atop the building.

TOGA’s chief executive for development and construction, Fabrizio Perilli, says One Twenty Macquarie’s height will make it a focal point in a region that is on track to become Australia’s fourth-largest CBD within 15 years.

Views from the apartments’ balconies variously include the city, North Sydney, Chatswood, Homebush and Lane Cove National Park.

Amenities in the 196-apartment building will include a theatrette, barbecue facilities and a cafe on the ground floor.

One Twenty Macquarie is 16 kilometres from the Sydney CBD and a short walk to Macquarie University, Macquarie Shopping Centre and the train station, making it appealing to investors, local workers and city employees alike.

One Twenty Macquarie’s apartments will be finished with stone bench tops and Miele appliances in the kitchens. They will have timber flooring and custom joinery.

There will be two colour schemes on offer – a light palette called Opacus and a darker more earthy design named Arcus.

Expressions of interest for the apartments are now being taken ahead of the sales campaign opening in March.

Potential buyers can see a replica of a two-bedroom apartment at One Twenty Macquarie’s display, which opened earlier this month.

From the team behind 1 Lachlan development in Waterloo  – Melbourne’s Golden Age Group and Time&Place – comes this 38-apartment offering in Sydney’s east. Split over two buildings, the bulk of the designs (22 apartments) will be two-bedroom configurations. There will also be 13 one-bedrooms and three three-bedrooms. Golden Age Group purchased the sites with pre-existing planning approval last year. The architects on the project are a+ design group, with interiors by Carr Design. The buildings will be launched at the InterContinental Sydney Double Bay with prospective buyers invited to view the project over the weekend of March 12 and 13.

With ferries a short walk away, a primary school around the corner and shops at the door, Billyard is being marketed as harbourside living meets convenient urban cool. The six-level development will replace an ageing apartment block and some surrounding commercial buildings. Billyard’s sleek curved exterior will lead to some interesting room shapes within the signature street-front apartments, and there will be impressive views of the harbour from its upper floors. Designed by SJB, the units will have external spaces ranging from balconies of five square metres up to a generous 91 square metres. Of the 56 apartments in Billyard, 52 are available.
