A grand home in Canberra’s north changed hands for $2.55 million last week, setting a house-price record for the suburb of Nicholls.
Behind an electric front gate, 6 Just Place sits on a generous 1607-square-metre landholding and offers a whopping 738 square metres of internal space, including a six-car garage.
The five-bedroom property passed in at auction on October 12 before a deal was inked through Civium Property Group’s Josh Finnigan on October 25.
The sale beat the previous suburb record by $50,000. That record had been held since April 2022 by another five-bedroom home at 10 Wendy Ey Place.
According to the Domain House Price Report for the September quarter, the median house price for Nicholls is $1,247,500, up 45.5 per cent over the past five years and well above Canberra’s median of $1,081,227.
Finnigan said the luxury home, which includes multiple entertaining areas and a “next-level” poolhouse, epitomises the best of what Nicholls can offer buyers: substantial blocks allowing for plenty of amenities.
“You can buy in Nicholls and not sacrifice anything; it’s unique like that,” he said.
“There’s value in a large piece of land if you’re buying a high-level property on a block that’s 800 to 1000 square metres or more.”
Nicholls is known for its proximity to the quaint Gold Creek Village and large stretches of golf course.
Allhomes data shows other sales in the suburb that entered the $2 million club included a four-bedroom home at 4 Viner Place sold by Blackshaw Gungahlin and a five-bedroom home at 13 Pellew Street, which sold through MARQ Property in July.
