Pop icon Britney Spears has celebrated her wedding last week to Sam Asghari with the keys to a flashy new address in California.
After long documenting her life in her Thousand Oaks home for her Instagram fans, Spears, 40, has new digs, buying a mansion in Calabasas with her new husband.
On one hand, the ornate estate, which cost USD $11.8 million ($16.96 million), has iron-fisted security – necessary for a celebrity who has endured intense paparazzi attention. On the other, the floorplan includes a room solely for gift wrapping.
The Grammy-winning singer and the actor are embarking on a fresh start just days after saying “I do”, signing the contract for the six-bedroom, nine-bathroom property in double-gated Estates at the Oaks neighborhood – a so-called gated community within a gated community, according to TMZ, which first reported the deal.
Neighbours include fellow Hollywood newlyweds Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian, Dirt.com reveals.
Built in 2008, it includes bubbling feature fountains at the entrance, a 10-seat movie theatre, exercise room off the main bedroom, steam shower, chandeliers, hefty stone feature walls, handsomely high ceilings and generous, arched hallways.
Next to the 55-foot swimming pool with a waterslide and tiered water feature is a self-contained guest house with one bedroom and its own kitchen.
The location is practical – it is reportedly close to where her former husband Kevin Federline lives. Spears shares two sons with Federline; Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15, born before their divorce in 2007.
Spears and her hubby celebrated their nuptials with a who’s-who guest list at their Thousand Oaks mansion, which has featured heavily on Spears’ candid Instagram account.
Photos of the flower-adorned façade, with a parked horse and carriage, were shared to her social media account, giving fans a glimpse inside the big day.
Spears’ car has been spotted parked at the Calabasas address. Fans will be eager to see how much of the new house she reveals on her Instagram after moving day.
