It’s not quite the simple life, but actress Nicole Richie and singer Joel Madden have bought a stylish house in Los Angeles for $US10.2 million ($13.8 million), according to media reports.
It comes after the star couple recently sold a home in the Beverly Hills Post Office neighbourhood to their next-door neighbour, singer-songwriter Adele, for $10 million.
They’re only moving up the hill, into a bigger house in the nearby gated community of The Summit, Dirt.com reports, where their new neighbours will include Serena Williams and Hilary Duff.
The five-bedroom, six-bathroom home was renovated by Simo Design and featured in Architectural Digest, billed as Paris meets Beverly Hills.
Originally built in 1987, it features 573 square metres of living space and boasts oak floors, calacatta corchia marble and portola lime-washed walls.
The pool area is set high above the city and offers an outdoor dining space kept private by mature trees.
Inside, the dramatic interiors contrast white walls with marble kitchen benchtops, striking fireplaces and dark floorboards.
Simo Design’s founders Sam Gnatovich and Alexi Rennalls were the sellers, living in the home after their renovation project.
The house was listed by Hilton & Hyland’s Drew Fenton and Justin Paul Huchel, while Hilton & Hyland’s Brett Lawyer represented the buyers.
