A tiny home with huge views could be Australia’s most private property.
In the sweetly named New South Wales postcode of Tinpot, the one-bedroom, one-bathroom cottage looks over an endless horizon from its elevated position – and nobody will be able to spoil the serenity.
There are no other homes in sight to blight the splendid vistas, making this affordable option more secluded than a multi-million dollar estate.
“This property is the ideal location for those who want to disconnect from the world and immerse themselves in the serenity of nature,” the listing for 610 Old Red Creek Road says.
“This … riverfront bush block inland from Bodalla is absolutely perfect for the person that doesn’t want Joe Bloggs living on their door step, or their backyard … or even their back gate. In fact, although there are neighbours, you’ll only see them if you want to.”
The home has a Domain advertised price guide of $690,000 to $730,000, and takes in 300 acres of land.
Buyers will find they can be at one with nature and rely on the elements, using solar battery power, tank water and a composting toilet.
Although the home has one bedroom, included is a studio which could be a work-from-home space or visitor accommodation.
The cottage has a bedroom and lounge room combined, with a loft for extra storage and two shipping containers for additional bits and bobs.
The two decks are the spot from where to watch the sun set and the seasons change. The Tuross River winds through the undulating wilderness than unfolds all around.
Agency LJ Hooker Moyura is looking after the listing.
The major township of Bega is a 76 minute drive away from Tinpot, which is about 290km from Sydney. At the time of publication, the tiny home was the only property for sale in Tinpot on Domain.
There is no median house price data available for Tinpot but the Bega Valley median house price sits at $860,000, a significant rise of 73 per cent over five years (and 1.2 per cent over the past 12 months), according to Domain’s March 2023 House Price Report.
