Nobody wants this Trump penthouse - now it's $10m cheaper

July 20, 2024

The penthouse belonging to Donald Trump’s late wife Ivana is languishing on the market two years after her death, but a fresh $10 million price cut is designed to finally move it.

As former President Trump rallies supporters at the Republican National Convention, news in Manhattan broke that his late ex-wife’s property, where she was found dead, was being heavily discounted.

The gilded penthouse on the elite Upper East Side was listed in November 2022 for $US26.6 million ($AU39.6 million), four months after Ivana died.

Last year, that price hope plunged to $US22.5 million ($AU33.5 million).

Now, the New York Post reports the asking price is $US19.5 million ($AU21.99 million), the Post reports.

Listing agent Adam Modlin of brokers Modlin Group did not respond to the Post’s request for comment.

The penthouse speaks to Ivana’s wealth and tastes and is dressed much as she would have herself – with crystals and fur.

Statements include ruby red carpet, grand curved stairs, enormous chandeliers, elaborate canopies over the beds, satin on the ceilings, lusciously-heavy drapery, pink marble and mirrored bathrooms and gold walls panels throughout.

Ivana died aged 73 in the apartment. Her body was found at the bottom of the stairs. She died of injuries sustained when she fell down the stairs.

She was a Czech-American model who wed Trump in 1997 and had three children with the tycoon – Ivanka (who has worked in her father’s White House administration), Eric and Donald Jr.

They divorced in 1990. Trump was one of her four husbands.
