If you’re planning a weekend away and are looking to stay somewhere truly special then this is the home for you.

Steeped in Australian history and offering plenty of space, the 10-bedroom, 10-bathroom mansion is located in one of Sydney’s most affluent neighbourhoods and has been the home of Australia’s top movers and shakers for decades.

Kirribilli House, the usual second residence of Australia’s Prime Minister when they are not staying in Canberra, has been listed on the accommodation website Stayz for rent.

The luxurious getaway is described as a “harbourside mansion fit for a King/PM”.

The listing details all the extravagant features guest will enjoy during their stay, including, a 12-person jacuzzi, Wi-FI that is “guaranteed” to be the quickest in the country, security personnel and memorabilia room featuring gifts from the King of Luxembourg and the Ambassador of Venezuela to browse through if you get bored.

Of course the Prime Minister of Australia’s house has to have an impressive barbecue area to entertain foreign dignitaries and demonstrate the ritual act of throwing “some shrimp on the barbie”. Luckily, according to the listing, the one at Kirribilli has 48 burners.

It even comes with it’s own panic room – code word ‘Yodel’ – in case you need to hide from an intruder during your stay.

While Kirribilli real estate is among some of the most expensive in Australia, the listing says that the owner seeks no payment for time spent staying at the house other than a simple cleaning fee.

If it is all sounding a little too good to be true, then sadly it is.

Despite the enticing listing the site has no authority to offer the property, which is owned by the Australian people, out as a rental.

But seeing as Malcolm Turnbull announced earlier this week that he would not be moving into the property during his time as PM, choosing to stay at his Point Piper mansion, it doesn’t seem like a half-bad idea.
