Outgoing AFL boss Gillon McLachlan and his wife Laura have sold their stylish Prahran home for $8 million and bought another house in the same suburb.
The sale price is below the initial price guide of $10 million to $11 million, which was later bumped down to $8.8 million to $9.3 million.
Public records show the property, owned in Laura’s name, settled on Friday. It last traded in 2013 for $4 million, doubling in value in the decade since.
A spokesperson for McLachlan could not be immediately reached on Friday. The selling agent on the listing, Marshall White’s Marcus Chiminello, also could not be reached.
The six-bedroom residence is one of only two homes in Prahran with a tennis court.
Set on a large block of almost 1200 square metres, it features an open-plan living room with a fireplace and bar, a swimming pool, an al fresco entertaining area, luxury kitchen appliances, a butler’s pantry and a double garage.
The couple recently bought a $13.5 million double-storey home in the same suburb.
McLachlan is nearing the end of his tenure as AFL chief executive and announced his resignation in April last year.
