The peculiar wording of a rental listing has left many people stumped thanks to the mention of an ‘en suite kitchen’ in a studio flat in the UK.

Luxury Property News first reported confusion over the rental listing for a property in the English town of Dawlish, a small seaside town in Devon.

A listing on UK property website Rightmove describes the home as a partly-furnished, recently-renovated bedsit.

“Situated in Dawlish town centre and close to shops, transport links and beach is this second floor spacious studio flat with ensuite kitchen,” the listing says.

“This property has just been totally renovated and modernised and includes use of a separate bathroom (shared with a single male tenant), consisting of shower, toilet and communal washing machine.

“The room is semi-furnished with a bed, wardrobe, sofa, dining table and chairs.

“Kitchen is equipped with table top oven/hob, microwave oven and small fridge freezer.”

The flat is being offered for rent for £110 per week ($AU222), which includes gas, electricity, water and council taxes.

Luxury Property News reported some online commenters were far from impressed by the listing.

“Shared bathroom? Can they even call this a studio? It’s literally a bedroom they’ve fitted a sink [into],” wrote one.

“Oooh. Love a carpet in the kitchen,” another said.

The property is being marketed by Devon Rose, Dawlish, and was still available at the time of publication.
