Pratt family scion Heloise Waislitz has snapped up a stunning Toorak mansion for $22 million, getting in just in time to avoid paying Victoria’s new premium stamp duty rate.

The wealthy philanthropist has bought the near-new home from Boost Juice founders Janine and Jeff Allis, for double the $11 million the sellers paid for the block in 2016.

The house sold in March within 24 hours of the first private inspection, with 15 groups taking a tour and three offers made within hours.

But the buyer has only now been revealed on public records after the property settled at the top end of its asking price guide of $20 million to $22 million.

Selling agent Marcus Chiminello, of Marshall White, declined to comment when contacted by Domain.

It was among the $200 million worth of prestige homes he sold in a run of about seven weeks this year as well-heeled buyers looked for spacious and amenity filled accommodation post-lockdown.

The purchase comes in time to avoid the new higher rate of stamp duty for premium properties, which from July 1 will rise from 5.5 per cent to 6.5 per cent for the value in excess of $2 million. If the same Toorak house had sold in July, the stamp duty bill could have been as much as $200,000 higher.

Ms Waislitz’s property portfolio still includes another home in the exclusive suburb, owned with businessman Alex Waislitz, from whom she has separated. Records show the then-couple paid $6 million for the spread in 2000. Her new partner is former Noiseworks and INXS frontman Jon Stevens.

Ms Waislitz is chair of her family’s charitable arm, the Pratt Foundation, and daughter of the late Richard Pratt. Her brother Anthony Pratt, of the Visy packaging and recycling group, along with his family, ranked third on the latest AFR Rich List with wealth of $19.75 billion.

Her new residence features a striking modern design by Wolf Architects, with five bedrooms, a state-of-the-art kitchen with butler’s pantry, al fresco dining terrace with open fire, heated pool and spa, sports court and north-facing gardens, all set on a spacious parcel of 1560 square metres.
