Property hunting? Our top pick of homes in Canberra's north to inspect this weekend

August 11, 2022
9 Macandie Street, Casey will go to auction on August 27.

This week’s top picks is all about north Canberra – anything north of Lake Burley Griffin.

Whether you were born here or have just moved here, you’d have come to know that the rivalry between north and south is as old as time — all friendly, of course.

When I moved to the capital in 2014 for uni, I lived in Belconnen before moving back to Sydney. When I later started at Allhomes and my hunt for a new home began, Canberra’s south was tempting but I found myself living in Belconnen again.

There’s something about familiarity that pulled me back from exploring other regions. Like many Canberrans, I’m proud of where I live and do have that “Belco” pride.

This week’s top picks shine a light on some of the best homes on the market across Gungahlin, the Inner North and Belconnen with a sprinkle of things to do during your open home pursuit.

And, next week, we’ll do this again with a lens looking towards south Canberra, so keep your eyes peeled.

Casey

With Rosalie Iannelli

Tied up and presented as the neatest of packages. The home at 9 Macandie Street is all you need – and then some. The kitchen is so chic, it could quite easily act as the backdrop for a celebrity cooking show hosted by the likes of Nigella Lawson. It comes with a Caesarstone benchtop with a waterfall edge, induction cooktop, matt black tapware, mirrored splashback and timber joinery.

An additional living area sits at the front of the home, providing another space for retreat. Then there’s always the main bedroom at the back of the home if the kids have completely taken over.
