Buying a house can be one of the most joyful and stressful times of your life. Everyone you know shares their own little nugget of information, new properties are listed every day and the crowds at auctions and open for inspections are overwhelming, but all of these things can result in achieving the Australian dream of home ownership.

This week on Property Unpackedwe hear what not to do when buying from buyers’ advocate and qualified property investment adviser, Cate Bakos.

She shares her expert tips like: “guide prices aren’t necessarily perfect indications of final sale prices. I think every buyer needs to understand how their state’s legislation works”.

“You don’t need to be a buyers agent or a valuer to get a good gleam on a property,” Bakos says.

Then, we chat with co-host of the My Millennial Property podcast Emily Wallace, about what’s really happening with young people trying to break into the property market.
