How cool is this? And for less than $700,000.

The caravan park in the California desert includes six restored Airstreams, owned by a legend of the music industry, and carrying price hopes of $US452,000 ($AU687,648).

B-52’s singer-songwriter Kate Pierson is selling the plot with the bohemian-style vans in the community of Landers, in the Mojave Desert. It could even be the place for “communicating” with aliens, the quirky listing says, encouraging buyers to “roam if you want to” – a line from  B-52’s hit 1989 Roam.

“Calling all free spirits and desert dreamers. Own a piece of high desert rock and roll history! This funky psychedelic trip called Kate’s Lazy Desert was crafted by B-52’s icon singer-songwriter Kate Pierson and her artist wife Monica Nation. Offering the chance to own a slice of rock and roll royalty and live the ultimate high desert escape,” the listing says.

“Nestled on five acres of breathtaking mountain views and starry nights, this vintage Airstream park exudes retro charm with six fully-outfitted trailers, each bursting with vibrant colors, ready for your love and personal touches to welcome guests for a one-of-a-kind glamping experience.”

A permit comes with the property allowing it to be used a motel, camping ground or caravan park.

An adjoining five acre parcel of land, with some foundation works underway, is also available, to expand its business potential.

“This property is perfect for shared ownership, weekend getaways under blanketed stars , cosmic vibing, extraterrestrial communicating or income flow through strategic Airbnb rentals. The possibilities are endless, roam if you want to!” the listing, handled by brokerage firm Paul Kaplan Group Palm Springs, says.

The B-52’s formed in Georgia in 1976 and originally comprised Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson, Cindy Wilson, Ricky Wilson and Keith Strickland.

They gained attention for their catchy songs, including the iconic Love Shack, and a so-called “thrift shop aesthetic”, which drew on rock and roll, 1950’s culture and “trash culture”, as it was called, for the basis of their work.
