Named River Cove Mansion, the property is on the books of Queensland Sotheby’s International Realty and if it transacts in line with price hopes, will set a record for Helensvale.

A global campaign is underway, with an expectation that the expressive style and bespoke finishes will tempt buyers browsing in elite markets such as Palm Beach and Los Angeles.

Buyers seeking something out of the ordinary will find the mansion has – what agents say – is one of the best residential pools in Queensland.

A conversation lounge sinks below the turquoise water, with a swim-up bar, a handsome Neptune statue standing guard and a pontoon beyond.

The enormous pool is laid with 24-carat gold and fine mosaic tiles, sparkling within a half-a-hectare of Lake Como-inspired, riverfront gardens. The corner block in a gated community is vast and private.

A Melbourne-based street artist has adorned the walls of the mansion, which has a high-end gym, 12-car garage, cinema, wine storage and sweeping outdoor areas.

Sotheby’s agent Mark Hadir is handling the campaign, seeking best offers by January 31 next year.

It is anticipated that these offers will be in the realm of $18 million, which would set a postcode benchmark.

The suburb does not the have the board profile of neighbours including Hope Island. However, being in a gated community, the property offers a special level of security and peace, Sotheby’s spokesperson Lynn Malone says.

Malone says returning expats or businesspeople in south-east Asia may desire this as a new Australian base.

“You come in by helicopter from the Brisbane or Gold Coast airport,” she says. “It is for someone who wants to be on the water, in the Gold Coast, and have a significant amount of land.”
