Rebel Wilson makes most of surging market, lists second Gladesville investment pad

Self-confessed property watcher Rebel Wilson is making the most of Sydney’s surging home values, listing another of her Gladesville investment apartments.

The Hollywood-based star had already cashed in on one of her Gladesville apartments in January when she pocketed more than $800,000 for a two-bedroom pad she bought new in the Bella Apartments complex in 2015 for $740,000.

And before that sale has settled Wilson has wasted no time in listing another two-bedder she owns upstairs, this time with buyers told a guide of $850,000 to $900,000.

Rebel Wilson is making good on Sydney's surging property values with a sell-off of her investment apartments.

The star of the Pitch Perfect movies bought the apartment in 2017, paying $885,000 for it new in the name of her Camp Sugar production company, which co-produced last year’s comedy movie The Hustle, in which Wilson starred alongside Anne Hathaway.

Peter Gordon, of Cobden & Hayson, declined to comment on the ownership of the apartment or reason for selling, but the timing of the sale comes as Domain research forecasts a surge in Sydney’s apartment market of 8 per cent this year, on top of gains already made in the last quarter of last year.

Wilson was quoted in Vogue magazine in June 2018 saying she “loves property” and was even enlisted by her sister Liberty Mair recently to bid for her at the auction of a Birchgrove cottage, securing it with a $1.36 million bid.

As well as owning  an apartment in New York and a house in the Hollywood Hills, Wilson still owns the waterfront house in Birchgrove she bought six years ago for $3.76 million, and added a two-bedroom townhouse to her portfolio in nearby Balmain’s Parkes Residences in 2018 for $1.88 million.
