A record house price of $3.2 million has been set in Chapman by the sale of the striking residence at 32 Monkman Street on March 28.

It beat the existing suburb record by $100,000.

Selling agent Tom Ellis of Bertram Ellis said the upper end of the Weston Creek market offered extremely good value in comparison with the Inner South and Woden precincts.

“There has definitely been an uptake of astute purchasers keen to take advantage, with some recent strong sales in the district,” he said.

“This sale sits above the others, and when you look closer at the complete package, it is easy to see why it achieved the solid result. The home is a credit to the owners.”

This stunning four-bedroom residence, which was designed and built in 2012, sits on a generous 2210-square-metre block and offers both luxury and privacy.

The home boasts over 600 square metres of living space, with open-plan living and kitchen areas connected by internal walkways that allow abundant natural light to flood inside.

A big part of its appeal is the framed picturesque views of the surrounding landscape.

The design allows a seamless flow from the living areas to the barbecue gazebo and in-ground pool, creating an ideal space for relaxing and entertaining.

The parents’ retreat is particularly impressive, offering breathtaking views of iconic Canberra landmarks.

The sale comes only weeks after the award-winning family entertainer at 8 Titheradge Place, Chapman, sold for an impressive $3.1 million on March 6 through Luton Properties Manuka.

According to Allhomes data, the median house price for the suburb is $1.285 million.
