A stunningly renovated colonial cottage in Redfern has hit the market with a price guide of $2.5 million.

It’s been listed by Nick Fordham, CEO of celebrity management business The Fordham Company and brother of journalist and radio presenter Ben Fordham.

The three-bedroom, three bathroom home on William Street last changed hands for $1.4 million in 2010, when Mr Fordham bought the property from Paramount Property Group.

72 William Street, Redfern, has been listed by Nick Fordham.

It features an open kitchen and living area and private courtyard, multiple fireplaces and an extensive upstairs bedroom with en suite.

Agent Matthew Hayson, from Cobden and Hayson, said that he thought the home would be of interest to downsizers, with the secure double parking holding particular appeal.

“It’s a very interesting and eclectic property,” Mr Hayson said.  “Every which way you look inside, there’s something to see.”

The home has a private courtyard and two secure parking spots.

“A lot of the material inside this property has been recycled and reclaimed – it’s one of the features of this particular development”

Nick Fordham was in the news last year when his client, former Today co-host Lisa Wilkinson, quit the show after pay negotiations stalled.  She is now the host of Channel Ten’s The Project.

His brother, Ben, had been involved in property development in the suburb, working with the  Paramount Property Group founder Steve Fadel on a development at 19A Turner Street.

Mr Fordham bought the property in 2010.

Records show that the Walkley award-winning journalist sold his home at 58C Wells Street, Redfern in June 2017 for $3.2 million.

Redfern has seen a handful of sales above $2 million this year, with 8 Great Buckingham Street selling for $2.2 million, and 2A Boronia Street selling for $2.15 million, both in March.

However, it was a four-bedroom home at 83 Pitt Street that scored the highest sale price for a house so far, at $2.65 million in April. A five-bedroom terrace at 745 Bourke Street also sold for $2.605 million in May.
