It’s sure to be an offer classic cinema fans can’t refuse – a New York state Airbnb rental that served as the home of Vito Corleone (played by Marlon Brando) in the iconic 1972 film The Godfather is available to rent through August.
The English Tudor Staten Island home at 110 Longfellow Avenue has been listed as a 30-night stay to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary mafia film.
In keeping with the 50th anniversary theme, the one-off rental is a steal at just USD $50 ($73) per night or USD $1500 ($2,200) for the month.
Up to five guests will have private access to the 5280-square-metre spread that includes five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, plus amenities like a saltwater pool, a pub in the basement, a game room and gym.
Bookings open at 1pm ET on Wednesday, July 27 for the August 1 to 31 period.
The 1930-built residence has undergone renovations and is completely modernised inside, although still being recognisable from the exterior for its role in the famous flick.
Located in the affluent neighbourhood of Todt Hill, only the home’s exterior was used in the film, according to NY Post.
Fans will remember the opening scene of the garden party wedding reception for Vito’s daughter, Connie Corleone (played by Talia Shire). This was meant as Corleone’s Long Island home in the movie.
The stately pad last sold in 2016 for USD $2.4 million ($3.5 million).
Next door, at 120 Longfellow, is a residence that served as the home of Michael Corleone (Al Pacino).
Just steps from that front gate, small-time crook Carlo Rizzi was whacked by a member of the Corleone crime family.
“The film crew used three houses total in this immediate area for the film, building an artificial gate there to create the sense of a compound, as well as kids from the neighborhood as extras [sic],” the Post says.
