Cranes piercing the Woden Town Centre skyline point to a strong rejuvenation in progress. Aside from residential developments under development, there’s also the new Canberra Institute of Technology and work on the Stage 2 light rail terminal.
A big redevelopment of the Hellenic Club site is also on the horizon while an adjoining public car park is slated as a future “Woden Village”.
Woden’s hospitality options are also starting to multiply, led by the hip gastropub The Alby, with its basement duckpin bowling alleys and pool tables.
Foodies are further catered to by the high-end restaurant eightysix south. And there’s plenty of casual dining around Westfield Woden.
There’s now an opportunity to join the Woden rejuvenation in a quality hospitality space that is offered complete with a $500,000-plus fitout.
Think cocktail lounge, bar, cafe or even a fine-dining restaurant.
There’s seating for 32 inside and seven outside, though it has a maximum capacity of 43. The space comes with a full commercial kitchen, dry and cool storage and restrooms.
Andrew Nuttall of Summit Business Brokers says the space that currently houses a popular modern Asian restaurant, Dada, represents a rare opportunity.
“This is an enormous opportunity to jump into a space that’s ready to roll right now – it’s an incredible fitout,” he says. “Every single detail has been well and truly thought through and a new owner could be ready to start business immediately.”
Nuttall says the opportunity would suit an experienced hospitality operator or a business looking to expand into a vibrant town centre.
