Every four minutes. That’s how often trains are scheduled to run during peak hour when the Sydney Metro Northwest opens in about three years.

That means the city’s north west, which has been under-serviced by public transport compared with many parts of Sydney, is on track to become a more connected and convenient place to call home.

The Boulevard at Rouse Hill town centre is primed to take advantage of the new train line, billed as the biggest public transport infrastructure project in Australia today and the country’s first fully-automated metro system.

There are 152 apartments across two buildings, six and seven storeys high. Of the 71 apartments for sale in the first stage, deposits were taken for about 30 at a VIP preview event last weekend.

David Inkster, director at PRDnationwide Norwest, say he expects The Boulevard to prove popular with investors who can see the potential of the future train line, local downsizers and young professionals.

“We are seeing quite a number of downsizers who are looking for three-bedders. For the first time in a while, there has also been strong interest from first home buyers and that’s definitely to do with the price range for these apartments.”

The future Rouse Hill station is 400 metres away. The line is scheduled to open in 2019, providing direct access to Chatswood. Including connections, that should mean a 50-minute commute to the CBD.

Schofields station, on the Richmond line, is about six kilometres away and there is also a T-Way bus station 400 metres away.

The Boulevard is AUX Group’s first Australian project.

Riverstone is another hotspot in the north-west growth corridor. With its own station on the Richmond train line, residents have easy access to Parramatta. The suburb is about 10 kilometres from the planned Rouse Hill station, so it’s also well positioned to take advantage of the Sydney Metro Northwest. Signature on Edmund, from developer Signature Projects, launches this weekend. When complete, there will be nearly 80 residences in the development. The first stage comprises 47 residences. Atal Kumar, managing director of Signature Projects, says the north-west corridor is booming. “The project features a variety of smartly designed and affordable [properties] offering great value for first home buyers, growing families and astute investors.”
