Rugby league star Greg Inglis sells $2.5m Coogee house before auction

NRL superstar Greg Inglis has scored a pre-auction sale on his Coogee home.

Recently retired rugby league star Greg Inglis sold his Coogee home on Thursday, just two days ahead of its scheduled auction.

The sale price of the Federation semi remained undisclosed, but records show buyers were told a guide of $2.5 million, and pre-auction offers are often anticipated to be above expectations.

The sale of the four-bedroom property comes just days after the former Maroons skipper booked into a mental health facility.

The four-bedroom semi had a $2.5 million guide before it sold on Thursday.

The former Origin and Test superstar travelled from Sydney to Brisbane last week for the historic Magic Round at Suncorp Stadium but reportedly went missing for three days while drinking.

Inglis, until recently the South Sydney Rabbitohs captain, played only two games this season before he announced his retirement last month due to persistent injuries and has struggled since.

Earlier this year he admitted to drink driving last October and escaped conviction, but copped an 18-month community release order.

Greg and Sally Inglis bought the corner property in 2012 for $1.1 million.

Inglis and his now estranged wife, Sally, bought the corner property in 2012 for $1.1 million as an original two-bedroom semi.

In 2017 DA-approval was granted for a major renovation that included the addition of two upper levels.

The contemporary four-bedroom, two-bathroom home with separate living areas and district views was completed about six months ago.

McGrath’s Marnie Seinor was unable to disclose the sale price, but confirmed it had sold.
