Saturday auctions back in full swing for 2018

In real estate, Saturday is the biggest day of the week. The average buyer is normally off work and keen to snap-up a new home. Agents capitalise on the demand by hosting a number of auctions.

It’s been a steady start to Saturday auctions this year, with the number of scheduled weekend auctions not surpassing double-digits. However, that’s about to change as 48 properties are set to go under the hammer this Saturday.

There are offerings from across the region with most agencies hosting at least one auction.

Luton Properties Woden sales manager Anthony McCormack has four scheduled auctions.

“We’re in with a high chance of success in all four auctions; we’ve had over 50 groups in through all four of them,” he said.

McCormack said the first weekend of February is an ideal time for Saturday auctions to start again.

“We find that a lot of people during the break make decisions about what they are going to do in the new year,” he said.

“Starting a marketing campaign in the second week back means people are starting to get over the distractions of the festive season.”
