Spin king Shane Warne has found a buyer for his Brighton mansion and is a step closer to moving back to his old neighbourhood digs.

A purchaser’s caveat has been lodged on title documents for the cricket great’s home at 11 Kinane Street, which is understood to have been priced between $5 million and $6 million.

The caveat – common practice at the luxury end of the market – upholds a legal interest in a property before settlement.

The four bedroom manor, modelled on a Mediterranean villa and 100 metres from the foreshore, hit the market in mid-August through agency JP Dixon.

The sale price is undisclosed.

Warne is flipping one Brighton home for another, returning to the marital mansion he shared with ex-wife Simone Callahan.

Just as he listed Kinane Street, he bought the mansion at 32 Middle Crescent in Brighton where he lived with Callahan, and sold nine years ago.

He is rumoured to have splashed between $14 million and $16 million acquiring 32 Middle Crescent, which he and Callahan bought as a renovation rescue for $3.6 million in 2000.

The couple sold the plush property in 2007 for $8.8 million.

The bowling legend has long traded between properties in Brighton, where he is as much a local icon as the Dendy Beach bathing boxes.

He shared 6 William Street in Brighton with his former squeeze, actress and model Elizabeth Hurley, and has also previously owned on the waterfront, at 102 The Esplanade.
