British singer-songwriter Adele has bought her neighbour’s house, paying $US10 million ($12.99 million) for the Los Angeles home of actress Nicole Richie.

The two have lived next door to each other since 2016, Dirt.com reports, when Adele bought a $US9.5 million home in the Beverly Hills Post Office neighbourhood from TV producer Don Mischer.

Her new purchase marks a price jump from its last trade for $US6.7 million in 2015 when Richie and her husband – Good Charlotte vocalist Joel Madden – bought the block once owned by Jack Nicholson.

Details are scant about the sale, which was concluded off-market without any online listing or photos offering a peek inside the property.

But it reportedly has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, 511 square metres of living space, a swimming pool and spa. It has been renovated and expanded since it was built in 1957.

It’s set in a well-heeled, gated community, with neighbouring homes owned by stars such as Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lawrence and Katy Perry.

Adele has been building quite a portfolio in the area and also owns a $US10.7 million residence across the street.
