Socialite Lizzie Buttrose has put her Vaucluse house up for sale amid plans to marry her fiance, Zoran Stopar, next week and move to Queensland.

A December 16 auction has been set for the four-bedroom house, much to the relief of neighbours who say they have become frequent kerbside witnesses to the couple’s stormy relationship and regular visits by police.

The battleaxe block of 873 square metres is described in the online marketing as “the perfect opportunity for reinvention”.

It has the distinction of being the first Vaucluse property to be listed with low-cost agency Purple Bricks. Agent Dean Emerson said buyers are being given a guide of “up to $4 million”.

The sale is hoped to cap off a tumultuous year for the troubled niece of media personality Ita Buttrose. Police have attended the property more than 13 times in the past year and her forthcoming nuptials are set to take place while there is an AVO in place against Zoran.

A local source described the street-front entrance to the property as hosting a constant parade of police called to the couple’s various domestic disputes and security agents responding to the panic button installed inside.

The most recent dispute landed the couple in Waverley Local Court at which a News Corp report says Buttrose announced the wedding plans, and the magistrate put Stopar on an 18-month good behaviour bond to be supervised by Community Corrections officers.

Buttrose took possession of the property in 2010, and it last traded in 2003 for $2.25 million when bought by her late father, financial adviser Will Buttrose.

A second mortgage was placed on title in September for $120,000 on shark loan terms of 18 per cent.

Buttrose’s brother, Richard Buttrose, is expected to walk free from jail on Saturday after seven years in prison after police found almost six kilograms of cocaine worth up to $10.8 million in his Darling Point and Paddington homes.
