In a galaxy far, far away … or at least in California, a house all Star Wars fans would love has come onto the market for a whopping $US26.5 million ($A39.2 million).

The six-bedroom, seven-and-a-half bathroom home in Los Angeles’ Hidden Hills not only features a tennis court, pool and theatre room, it also has a basement designed to house a collection of Star Wars memorabilia.

The collection includes 40 life-sized models of Star Wars characters – R2D2, C3PO, Darth Vader, Chewbacca and even Han Solo frozen in Carbonite, The Wall Street Journal reports.

A replica X-Wing fighter hangs from the ceiling in one of the basement rooms, complete with figurines of Luke Skywalker and R2D2, while a replica speeder bike like those in Episode VI: Return of The Jedi is also on display.

Perhaps one of the best-known scenes from the original movies – the cantina in the spaceport town of Mos Eisley – has been recreated thanks to the owner, a semi-retired investor.

The walls of some of the rooms of the basement, which has been dubbed a museum to Star Wars, are lined with mint, in-box figurines which could command tens of thousands of dollars if sold at auction.

The home completed in 2013, was designed by Brian Lerman of ARC Design Group in a contemporary craftsman style, with the basement designed to fit in with the unique architecture.

Luckily for Star Wars fans, some of the collection can be sold with the home, but for an added price to be negotiated at the sale.

The owner will be holding on to some of the pieces as they hold sentimental value, according to the WSJ.

The property is being sold through agents Arvin Haddad, Emil Hartoonian and Mauricio Umansky of The Agency.

Hidden Hills in California is a gated community, home to a who’s who of Hollywood and music.

Rapper Drake and singer Jessica Simpson live there, while late last year, Kanye West and his reality-star wife Kim Kardashian snapped up a $A4.31 million property in Hidden Hills, neighbouring their home.

It comes with six bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms. Photo: The Agency
