The three-bedroom, two-bathroom property may have once been thought outlandish in design is now in vogue thanks to the Barbiecore trend.

Barbiecore refers to a confident, feminine aesthetic inspired by Barbie dolls and colourful fashion trends of the late 1990s and early 2000s.

It has made a revival this year following the release of images from Greta Gerwig’s live-action film Barbie. The movie stars Australian actress Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken, and images of the pair, in character, rollerblading, have caused a sensation.

The single family home is awash with various hues of pink, from its plush carpet to its walls to the adorable cabinetry of its kitchen and the upholstery choices.

Possibly the highlight of the home is the flushed pink booth-style dining area with its stunning wrap around glass-block window.

As well as the candy-pink, the home’s design has moments of a cool aqua green and yellow.

It also features a number of original built ins, and other personal flourishes such as green foliage wallpaper in one of the bedrooms.

“The incredible 1940’s bungalow is one of a kind. Located along the Mississippi on beautiful Riverside Drive,” the listing description reads.

“Built of cinderblock, this home is truly something to behold and a rare opportunity.”

The home also has an attached garage.

The home was last listed for sale in 2018 for $324,000 (US$219,900). After failing to sell the price was dropped to $294,000 (US$199,900) in 2019 and it was sold for $280,00 (US$190,000).

The current owners are set to sell with an asking price of $368,000 (US$250,000).
