A stunning pavilion-style home overlooking Port Cygnet Bay in Tasmania is for sale with expectations of almost $3 million.
Located on just over a hectare of land in Cygnet, a popular tourist town in the Huon Valley, about 50 minutes from Hobart, it offers breathtaking views across the rolling hills towards the bay.
The property, 106 Winns Road, Cygnet, is a three-bedroom home that seamlessly blends Scandinavian, mid-century and Japanese design.
The current homeowner purchased the property in 2019 for $425,000 and worked with Tassie-based architect Nathan Crump on the design. It was built using natural materials reminiscent of traditional Japanese homes.
The exterior of the home is clad in shou sugi ban timber, which offsets the spotted gum timber used on all the decks and trims.
The home is made up of three separate pavilions.
The main pavilion houses the open plan kitchen, with dark cabinets and timber features, dining area and living room characterised by dramatic high ceilings, polished concrete flooring and an abundance of natural light.
There is also a butler’s pantry, office, laundry and main bedroom, complete with walk-in wardrobe and a huge en suite bathroom with large soaking tub.
Step outside and across the deck you will find a second pavilion housing another bedroom with en suite bathroom.
A third pavilion contains an open plan living space, kitchenette and bedroom with en suite featuring dual rain shower heads positioned under a skylight.
The home has been on the market since mid last year and is yet to find a buyer.
It is now for sale for $2.85 million.
Agent Georgie Rayner of The Agency Hobart previously told Domain it would suit downsizers or families with older children as a full-time home, weekender or holiday home.
It is by far the most expensive house for sale in Cygnet, where the median house price is $645,000 based on sales in the past year.
