Sunrise presenter Natalie Barr was expected to take her Mosman house to auction on Thursday, but sold it the day before for more than $3.5 million.

The exact sale price remains undisclosed by Ray White Mosman’s Geoff Smith and Richard Harding, but it had a guide of $3.5 million to $3.8 million and is expected to settle in that price range.

The result should prove a moderate gain for Barr and her husband, Andrew Thompson, who bought it two years ago for $3.235 million from Jones Lang Lasalle chief executive Stephen Conry.

The four-bedroom house on Raglan Street was an upgrade for the couple at the time from the nearby house on Calypso Avenue that they sold in early 2016 for $2.891 million.

The couple are yet to buy back into the property market, according to records, and are rumoured to be considering a possible move to the eastern suburbs where their sons are at school.

The Network Seven star has been a news presenter at the Sunrise morning show since 2003.

Her sale coincides with the nearby purchase in Beauty Point by rival breakfast show host Georgie Gardner.

Gardner and her husband Tim Baker sold their Federation bungalow in Artarmon for $4.2 million this year to upgrade to Mosman given a budget of $6 million.

Gardner took up co-hosting duties on Today next to Karl Stefanovic this year after Lisa Wilkinson left to join The Project at Ten.
